Administrative Division This division consist of the office of the Chief of Police and an administrative assistant. This division is responsible for the overall operation of the department. This division also handles the records and property tasks within the department. Operations Division This division is made up of the uniformed patrol officers within the department. These officers are responsible for many different roles in the department. The radio patrol officers are responsible for responding to calls for service and conducting patrols to deter and detect crime in the community. The bicycle officers are used on occasions where officer visibility or travel restrictions may apply. The canine unit is used in support of the radio patrol officers as well as conducting searches for illegal narcotics. The reserve officers provide additional manpower resources to the department. Support Services Division This division consists of the communications center and the criminal investigations division. The communication division is the point of contact for all emergency and non-emergency calls made to the police department. The communications officers then relay this information to the appropriate personnel in order for the call for service to be handled efficiently and effectively. The criminal investigations division is responsible for investigating all criminal offenses. |
